Job Description

As an AWS Engineer, you will serve as a key delivery engineer for our cloud ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers. You will assist Architects in the planning and design of AWS solutions for enterprise customers, as well as deployment, testing and cutover of enterprise-scale Amazon Web Service cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions. You will be a technical expert on both cloud and on-premises infrastructure systems. You will apply your technical expertise in AWS cloud offerings to successfully, and efficiently, assist customers in their cloud adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Build, release, and manage the configuration of all production systems.

  • Troubleshoot incidents to identify root cause, participate in blameless postmortems, and contribute to an aspiring culture of continuous improvement and learning.

  • Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines when necessary.

  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.

  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of quality and design.

  • Work in tandem with other engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.

  • Responsible for the planning, implementation, and growth of the AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • Work alongside engineering teams to design and implement any scalable software services, providing feedback where system constraints prevent scalable solutions.

  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on the AWS platforms

  • Understanding of and experience in organizations using the five pillars of a well-architected framework

  • Experience working with core services: VPC, EC2, ELB, EFS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda

  • A solid background in Linux System Administration and SysOps

  • Comfortable using and supporting DevOps tools: GitLab, Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory

  • An understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts, using tool like Terraform

  • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks.

  • Experience installing and configuring application servers: NGiNX, Tomcat

  • Experience using monitoring solutions for observability: CloudWatch, Prometheus

  • Proficiency in script development: Bash, Python, or any cloud native language

  • Understanding of SSH

  • Technical documentation for areas of oversight

  • Understand IT security principles to support Compliance requirements

  • Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of product, developers, data, and subject matter experts.

  • AWS Certification Preferred
